Our driving force, what gives our teams the energy and inventiveness to develop the technically sophisticated products used by our customers day after day, is both simple and precious, exciting and fragile: our driving force is life itself.
The lives of our patients and those of health workers, but also, quite naturally, the life around us, that we have a duty to protect: our employees, the environment, our ties to society.
Protection of the environment
We are determined to minimize the environmental impact of Vygon products. For this reason, we incorporate the environmental criterion from the start of our product design phase, in our choice of suppliers and service providers and when producing our packaging, which is now subject to an eco-design process. In the same vein, new company infrastructure is built to the HQE (High Quality Environmental) standard, and fits seamlessly into its environment.
We have also undertaken several actions to promote reduced consumption in all areas: water, gas, electricity, paper, and so on. Likewise, we are committed to reducing our waste production.
To reduce the carbon footprint of our business, we are installing solar panels on our sites, along with electric charging stations for our employees.
Recycling is another major component of our environment policy: compaction of plastic waste, alternative uses for unused machines.
Vygon backs major causes
Vygon teams take up major causes in the field. Vygon backs SOS Préma, a French association of parents that works to support families coping with a challenging life event: caring for a premature baby.
Vygon teams also take part in World Prematurity Day, an event that aims to raise awareness about the challenges of caring for a premature baby, through a host of initiatives organized in high-profile French and international hospitals.
Vygon also contributes to World Cancer Day, an initiative led by the Union for International Cancer Control, which fights to put cancer high on the global health agenda.
Our company also provides financial backing to associations such as “Les Matins du Soleil”, a humanitarian association created in 2008 to support development, education and care for people living in Niger.
Our support for SOS Préma
SOS Préma is a French association of parents that works to support families coping with a challenging life event: caring for a premature baby. To guarantee every premature baby has the best chance of growing up healthily and happily in France, and to speak to the public authorities on behalf of families and defend their rights. SOS Préma works closely with healthcare teams to make these goals a reality.
SOS Préma’s work is in line with our goal of helping healthcare professionals provide the best possible care for premature babies. Giving these babies the best start in life requires a team effort on an everyday basis.
Our participation in World Prematurity Day
Every year, we take part in World Prematurity Day. It is a fact that 15 million children are born prematurely around the world every year. This event, the brainchild of our partner EFCNI (European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants), aims to raise awareness of the challenges inherent in premature birth through various initiatives organized within renowned French and international hospitals.
World Prematurity Day is an opportunity for our neonatology teams to discuss issues with parents and healthcare professionals, especially through feedback from parents who have experienced hospitalization with a premature baby, videos and demonstrations of medical devices.
World Cancer Day
World Cancer Day is an initiative by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC). Each year on the 4th of February, this event aims to unite people all around the world in a common goal: to put cancer high on the global health agenda and to promote greater fairness in patient care by speaking out positively under one voice.
As a medical device manufacturer, we join forces with healthcare professionals to care for their patients, so it is a natural step for us to join this initiative to help raise awareness. Cancer being the second-leading cause of death in the world, we have made a priority of the fight against this disease, which affects all of us directly or indirectly.
Our slogan, Value Life, illustrates our strong and sincere commitment to this cause.
Patronage of the Château d’Ecouen
The town where our company was created is also home to the Château d’Ecouen, which houses the National Renaissance Museum. Through its patronage, Vygon seals its attachment to Ecouen and its involvement in cultural life and heritage.
