Indication
The Stiletto® is intended for:
- the administration of intravenous fluids,
- blood sampling during short term therapies via peripheral insertion.
It can be used in any patient population, provided that the vascular anatomy is suitable, and it is compatible with power injection.
Description
The Stiletto®, designed by Avia Vascular, is a sterile, single use Extended Dwell Catheter (EDC) developed to provide a more intuitive and more comfortable solution for patients requiring short to mid term intravenous therapies (less than 28 days).The Stiletto® integrates the patented SlipStream™ technology, designed to eliminate the use of a metal guidewire and simplify the insertion procedure, replacing the traditional Seldinger technique.
This innovation enables:
- a simpler procedure,
- fewer steps,
- safer insertion,
- a significant improvement in patient comfort.
Features:
- Immediate blood flashback detection thanks to a notched needle and striped catheter.
- Flexible yet durable catheter, ensuring improved biocompatibility and longer dwell times.
- Smaller needle relative to the catheter diameter for:
- reduced pain during insertion.
Available in multiple gauges and lengths:
